Twebinars from Radian 6 on Social Marketing
When we are looking at ways to use Twitter in a business context, then you have to love the approach that Radian 6 have come up with as they look at their Twebinars this summer, not to mention the range and depth of the people they have lined up to lead them.
So what exactly is a “twebinar”? Well according to the people at Radion 6 who seem to have coined the term, it is:
the mashup between Twitter and a webinar. Users don’t just watch from the sidelines but join in on the conversation before, during and after each Twebinar.
Sounds good. Essentially, the participants can watch and listen to the Twebinar just as you would with a normal web based webinar, receining information from the presenter as per usual. However, at the same time, there is a parallel conversation which is ongoing as participants comment, ask questions, and/or discuss the webinar series on Twitter. If you are on Twitter then you can follow the participants on Twitter and join the conversation.
In essence, you get to connect with the other particpants in the webinar who are clearly interested in the same elements as yourself as well as with the host and, potentially I guess, the other social media speakers who are featured in the program. With people such as John Cass, Chris Brogan, Shel Holtz and Shel Israel to name but a few, you’d be well advised to stay twittered!
